This guided walk in Belper follows in the footsteps of the rebels in 1817, visiting places associated with the Rising. An urban walk on pavements with steep hill and steps. (No stiles).


Starting Point: Ritz Cinema, King Street, Belper DE56 1QA. Grid Ref 475 350. (Pay and display car parking at back of Market Place nearby).

Heritage walk at Bennerley Viaduct


Length & Grading: 2 miles, moderate.


Learn about the industrial heritage of the newly opened heritage railway bridge, Bennerley Viaduct. This is an engineering marvel and a must-see for railway and industrial history fans. This circular walk involves 60 steps on Nottingham side and a further 40 steps up and down on the Ilkeston side. (1 stile) .
