Pedal Power

Cycling is a great way to explore the
countryside, take up exercise and to get around. Derbyshire
is the perfect place to pedal for pleasure or on your daily
business - everyone can have a go.
Derbyshire Country Council
is developing a network of traffic free routes, or Greenways,
around the county linking communities and countryside.
In Amber Valley the Ripley Greenway allows you to
cycle along surfaced pathways through traffic free areas. The
Greenway links to the end of the new section of the National Cycle
Network Route 54.
The Nutbook Trail links Shipley Country
Park to Little Eaton along designated cycle paths and a
circular path around Shipley Country Park allows a journey through
scenic county park environment, providing the perfect location for
new cyclists of any age.
For those wanting to take in the sites whilst taking things a
little easier, a network of electric bikes are located around the
county.
