Rewilding the Iron Giant Bennerley Viaduct


Length & Grading: 2 miles, moderate.


Explore the natural heritage of the newly opened heritage railway bridge, Bennerley Viaduct and learn how our volunteers are helping nature on this former coalfield. This circular walk involves 60 steps on Nottingham side and a further 40 steps up and down on the Ilkeston side. (1 stile).


Starting Point: Compound at Bennerley Viaduct, off Awsworth Road, Bennerley Viaduct, Awsworth Road, Ilkeston.DE7 8PX. Grid Ref: SK 473 434.

Trent Lock Wildlife Walk


Length & Grading: 3 miles, easy.


A look at wildflowers and other wildlife on a short amble around Trent Lock. (1-5 stiles).


Starting Point: Meet outside the Canal and River Trust Education Centre at Trent Lock NG10 2FY near the Steamboat Inn SK49033125.
