Derwent Pulse

Serenading Belper River Gardens

Derbyshire's longest ever artwork, flowing the length of the Derwent. The light installation creates Derbyshire's longest ever artwork, a Derwent Valley Mill World Heritage Site commission by Charles Monkhouse.

Up to 1,000 lights will be shepherded by riverside communities to create a light flow the length of the Derwent exploring the river and its heritage. Resonating with the ancient pulse of the first ever factories, the lights weave together past, present and future histories of Derbyshire, its landscape and its people.
